Hello everyone! My name is Jewel Nambiar and I am the creator of the website avageraldine.blogspot.com and the author of all the post. I am a Malaysian and I was born in the year 1997. I started this blog on 31 May, 2017 which is the same day I posted my first blog on this website.
Why did I choose the name "Ava Geraldine"?
Ever since I was in primary school around the age of 8, I have always love the name Geraldine. I wasn't too fond of my name back then as I was constantly teased and bullied over it.
Over the years, I kept that name "Geraldine" as a pseudonym for myself, using it as my alias even when I created my social media accounts such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
At the age of 16, I came across the name "Ava" as I was browsing through the names in a dictionary.
I saw fit to include it alongside my name "Geraldine" and henceforth, "Ava Geraldine" has been my favourite pseudonym until today.
Why did I create this blog?
My passion for writing started when I was in primary school around the age of 11. My favourite hobby then (and now) is reading and usually in between classes, after school or during breaks, I would sneak into the library and read the books that were available.
Most of the books available at that time were written by "Enid Blyton". I grew interested in the way she was able to captivate me as a reader and bring me into this fantasy world of characters and storyline.
Now, why am I telling you this when clearly the question states "Why did I create this blog?".
My interest in creating a blog started in high school and peaked while I was undergoing my pre-university program. However, I do not know the first thing about creating, the content and editing.
I decided to take my first step by creating one in Blogger.com.
This blog, avageraldine.blogspot.com, is mainly dedicated towards teaching the Malay language in my page "Learn Malay Through English". This page is solely dedicated towards teaching Malay beginning from the Beginner Level.
My second page is "By_AvaGeraldine Shares". Here is where I write my views on various topics and share my experiences. It is a much more personal page of mine.
